Leipzig is located in the eastern part of Germany near the border with the Czech Republic. Leipzig is full of history and beautiful gothic architecture. Leipzig is filled with music on the streets and is the home of Johann Sebastian Bach. Some main attractions include St. Thomas' Lutheran Church where Bach worked as a lead singer in the choir and the Battle of Nations Monument. Leipzig is also home to one of Europe's oldest universities, Leipzig University, which was founded in 1409 and educates about 30,000 students. Some other attractions are the Leipzig Zoo, St. Thomas' Boy Choir, Mendelssohn House and the Leipzig Opera House.
